POETRY AS PAINTING: A free workshop on Zoom

Evan with East Window.jpg

Join Evan Craig Reardon and friends for this workshop which focuses on exploring poetry through color and painting.

According to Evan, all of French poetry after 1940 was heavily involved with the painting scene. Many of the major postwar French poets made their livings as art critics and art historians. We will talk about Wallace Stevens who was a collector of French impressionist and Post-Impressionist works and other poets including John Ashbery, who worked as an art critic.

In this time of global pandemic and isolation, we at Cathedral Arts find that exploring poetry and art with friends liberates us from stunned silence in the face of the overwhelming. As praying psalms together has done for many communities, sharing poetry and art reorients us toward the good and the beautiful.

You will receive the Zoom link and a document with the poems under discussion before the class begins.

Please fill out the form below to register and consider making a donation to support the Cathedral Arts mission.
