Hello,

I hope you are doing well in this Holiday season. My name is Thomas Odell and I am the Interim Director of Music at The Cathedral of All Saints. I am writing with an exciting notice and opportunity for a world class musical education - free of charge at The Cathedral of All Saints in Albany, NY.

The Cathedral of All Saints has been known for generations as a center of musical excellence, revolving around the historic Choir of Men and Boys. Now, in common with cathedrals in England and other parts of the Anglican Communion, which like us are rebuilding their choral foundations after the Covid-19 pandemic, the Dean and Music Department have decided to open our treble section to both boys and girls and the back row of our choir to men and women. We are very excited for this shift and new chapter in the choir's history and hope that you can be a part of it.

Starting January 8th, 2025 we will be beginning a "novice class" of chorister singers aged 7-14. This class will be on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 7:00 at The Cathedral of All Saints, no audition necessary. In this class choristers will learn the fundamentals of singing, reading music, and music theory, among other important musical skills. As students become ready and show interest they will be permitted to audition for the treble section of The Cathedral Choir, where singing Sunday Eucharist, Evensong, and concerts will be expected.
