Join our poetry consultant, Evan Craig Reardon, as he leads us in learning the basics of reading poetry. We will learn about rhyme, meter, form, and imagery and how these elements combine to create meaning in a poem. This course requires no prior experience with and is meant to foster an awareness of and appreciation for poetry. We will explore poems that give a sense of the great range present in lyric poetry, reading a poem from a Romantic era poet, William Wordsworth, and a poem from a High Modernist poet, Wallace Stevens. The class is $10. Pre-registration is required.
Consideration will be given to those suffering financial hardship due to the pandemic. Please email arts@cathedralofallsaints.org if you would like to attend and are unable to pay.
