Cathedral Services Update
17 March 2020
Dear Friends in Christ,
At the direction of the Bishop of Albany and in accordance with the request of the President of the United States to limit both the number and the size of public gatherings (no more than ten people), all public services and events at the Cathedral of All Saints are suspended through the end of March.
You may read the Bishop's message here: https://albanyepiscopaldiocese.org/2020/03/17/an-update-from-bishop-love-on-the-coronavirus-and-the-temporary-suspension-of-church-services/
We will be posting resources for prayer and worship at home during these challenging times. We are arranging for the webcasting of the daily and Sunday Masses. Please continue to check our website for regular updates.
I encourage each and every one of us to cooperate in every way with the recommendations of the civil authorities as they work to contain the pandemic. Let us be constant in prayer for all who are afflicted and for the health professionals who care for them. May the good Lord have mercy upon us and deliver us from this pestilence.
The Lord Bless, Preserve, and Protect You,
The Very Rev. Fr. Leander S. Harding, Ph.D.
Dean
From the Book of Common Prayer
Assist us mercifully, O Lord, in these our supplications and prayers, and dispose the way of thy servants towards the attainment of everlasting salvation; that, among all the changes and chances of this mortal life, they may ever be defended by thy gracious and ready help; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (Prayer For Protection, 832)
O God of peace, who has taught us that in returning and rest we shall be saved, in quietness and in confidence shall be our shall be our strength: By the might of your Spirit lift us, we pray you, to your presence, where we may be still and know that you are God; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (A Prayer for Quiet Confidence, 832)
Sanctify, O Lord, those whom you have called to the study and practice of the arts of healing, and to the prevention of disease and pain. Strengthen them by your life-giving Spirit, that by their ministries the health of the community may be promoted and your creation glorified; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (Prayer for Doctors & Nurses, 460)
O God, whose days are without end, and whose mercies cannot be numbered: Make us, we pray, deeply aware of the shortness and uncertainty of human life; and let your Holy Spirit lead us in holiness and righteousness all our days; that, when we shall have served you in our generation, we may be gathered to our ancestors, having the testimony of a good conscience, in the communion of the Catholic Church, in the confidence of a certain faith, in the comfort of a religious and holy hope, in favor with you, our God, and in perfect charity with the world. All this we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (Prayer for Holy Living, 504)
